The struggle is real - overtight band

Patients put off getting fluid out of their band as they fear ultimately this will lead to weight gain, feel it’s a back step on their journey or don’t realise de-fills are even a thing.

So instead they struggle on a daily basis with horrid RED ZONE symptoms, regurgitation, pain or discomfort on eating, opt for unhealthy slider foods as only thing they can get in, struggle to hit hydration, may suffer with constipation as a result of poor diet, using daily reflux medication, wake up chocking or coughing, swallowing difficulties, have to sleep upright, stop socialising or become anxious around eating in front of others or outside the home, feel tired and worn out, develop nutritional deficiencies, loose hair/teeth, impacts mental health

Some people take these symptoms to be normal and basically part and parcel of having a gastric band.

Please let me tell you these symptoms are NOT normal and definitely NOT OK

More often than not weight doesn’t always go down whilst you are experiencing these symptoms either and can actually go up!

Trust me the struggle is real, and these issues can lead to bigger problems 🥺
