Bands will lose some fluid naturally over time due to dispersion, this can reduce the amount of control/restriction that you feel from it. A simple top up can help in this situation. If you feel a more sudden loss of all control, this could indicate that your band is leaking/disconnected and not functioning properly. An assessment and possible fluid check if needed can be performed to help us understand, diagnose or rule out any issues with your band. This can be done in clinic if required
Cost of an adjustment will vary - At Gastric Band Clinic my consultations and adjustments are £120
Not long at all, you appointment will typically last 15-20 minutes - but times may vary depending on assessment
There is no getting away from the fact that it is a needle procedure. Typically only a sharp scratch is felt no pain as such, some patient don't feel anything - thresholds vary from patient to patient, but being in the hands of a good practitioner always helps!

Following your assessment and adjustment you will be advised individually on post procedure diet. You more than likely will have to return to fluids for a few days (soups and shakes) then mashed/soft food before returning back to a normal textured diet
Always follow your providers advice on this one, a Gastric Band Clinic I advise no solid food 2 hours before and stop liquids 1 hour before as precaution. This is to make sure the stomach is rested prior to having the procedure
Once your band is inserted and you start the filling process, you more than likely will need an adjustment 4-6 weekly - time between fills will vary once your band is optimal and will be down to the individual to as and when you will need further adjustments. Patients may need their band defilling if the band becomes too tight, or if required for medical purposes
Your band will always, to some degree need adjusting to keep it working optimal. Aftercare with a reputable provider will ensure that you are getting the correct advice and support when needed for your safety and the longevity of your band
Sorry to hear that you have experienced these issues and indeed I can take over your aftercare, offering not just adjustments but advice and support when and where needed - please drop me a message or email info@gastricbandclinic.co.uk to discuss further
