Breakfast Bonanza
The morning is a great time to boost your metabolism and your energy levels. Try these breakfast ideas – perfect for you and your band.
Try these ideas:
- Granola – with low fat milk. It’s full of fibre and can be rich in omega 3 fats. Just be careful to choose a reduced sugar version! Give yourself an antioxidant boost by sprinkling a handful of fresh berries across the top
- Porridge with a sprinkle of granola on top – a great way to keep you full until lunchtime. Warm, hearty, filling and could even lower your cholesterol levels. The granola gives that much needed crunch to an otherwise soft breakfast
- Half a slice of granary toast and natural yoghurt with mixed berries – carbs, dairy and fruit all in one go
- Half a wholemeal bagel – cut it open and pop it in the toaster. Spread with low fat cream cheese and top with a slice of smoked salmon. A fabulous start to the day
- Scrambled egg on toast – use a small slice of granary or wholemeal toast to boost your fibre intake. You could serve it with a grilled tomato and a few mushrooms
- Reduced sugar Muesli – add a handful of fresh, chopped strawberries on top
- Beans on a small slice of wholemeal toast – more traditionally used as a lunch option but is a fabulous high fibre start to the day
- Half a wholemeal breakfast muffin with low fat spread or avocado and a poached egg
